Kansas Speedway Comments
Anyone out there have any comments about Kansas Speedway and what it's like to go to a race there? I'll be asking for comments about every track for the rest of the schedule this season. Let's start with Kansas first, but if any of you out there have some thoughts on any of the other tracks — Talladega, Lowe's, Martinsville, Atlanta, Texas, Phoenix and Homestead, I would certainly love to hear them. Thanks so much for your help.

Comments:
i go to the kansas speedway every year, you have to buy season tickets, and i dont live that far away, there are better tracks and more fan oriented ones but it's not bad for being so close to me

The same as acescandy as far as going every year only other cup track experience though is the Brickyard. The great thing about the layout at Kansas is you can see the whole track from almost everywhere in the grandstands can't say that about Indy but it's bigger and still an experience.

This is my last year for the Kansas Race. I have went the last 3 years because it is only 4 hours away. I spend over $1200.00 for 4 tickets. This is out of control. A total ripoff because you have to buy season tickets. They also treat you like 3rd class citizens. You cannot bring food and drink into the track you have to buy there 8 dollar beers and 7 dollar sandwiches. None of the old track rip you off like this. They say it is for security but it's MONEY. I will give up my tickets and I know someone will be there to take my place. It's a shame that we cannot boycot tracks like this to keep them from ripping the consumer off. Ultimately it is cheaper for me to drive 13 hours to Charlotte. Tickets are cheaper and the track is more fan friendly. See ya in Charlotte.

I am a Kansas Season ticket holder and I too noticed that they were already accepting deposits for 2007.  I just got a letter yesterday saying that all last year's seats are renewable.  So, I'm thinking that the only seats they are taking deposits on are those that they didn't sell this year.  I hear they had about 10k seats left.  I live in the community, so I don't mind buying the season tickets, but the season ticket scheme is starting to fall apart on them as out of towners don't want to spend that much money every year.  They did not sell out this year for the first time, and I think that the high cost of just going to the track is why. I agree that the prices of concessions are way over the top.  It costs 15-20 per person per day for a meal and a couple of soft drinks.  It would be nice if they would make the food and drink prices more fan friendly. Even though we buy the cheap seats, it ends up costing us about $1200.00 over the two weekends and we live in town.  I can't imagine what the out of towners have to pay.  I do enjoy the races and the facility itself is great, which is why we continue to go.

We have thought about a different track for the same reason Texas is the next closest for us aside from Chicagoland but since it's owned by ISC I think it has the same policy. We do enjoy most forms of racing however we would like the choice of where and when. To top it off saw on Kansas website you can put a desposit on a seat now for next year but as far as I know nobody contacted current ticket holders. Which means you could be sol when you try to renew for the same seats or area.
