Junior Should Fly the Coop
This has probably been hashed and hashed and re-hashed over the past few weeks, but I'm going to re-hash it some more. What should Dale Jr. do about his impending expiring contract at DEI? Should he stay at DEI or should he go elsewhere? I'm taking the the high road. Junior's got the clout behind him enough to say, "I'm outta here." Teresa Earnhardt obviously doesn't want him there at DEI. He can take his Budweiser sponsorship and go anywhere he chooses. The best location? Richard Childress Racing, of course. He should tell Richard he wants to come over and drive the No. 3 car right now and finish his career there. It's been argued by some that Budweiser doesn't want a black car but a red one. I don't see that. Budweiser and Dale Jr. were meant for each other, and the company would be ecstatic to have a black No. 3 on the track every week. Any fans he might not have had would certainly come over to his camp with that type of combination. Whether Junior will do that or not, who knows? He could stay at DEI and gather enough money to try and buy Teresa Earnhardt out sometime down the road, sort of a "hostile takeover" of the company, if you will (has anyone ever seen the movie "Secret of My Success" with Michael J. Fox?). He could stay with DEI for the rest of his career and end up owning the company outright in a few years. In any case, Junior will certainly do what he feels is best for him. He can't lose either way, but I know we'd all like to see that black No. 3 back out on the track with an Earnhardt driving it as soon as possible. Who knows, I might even secretly become a Junior fan if that happens.

I,too, agree with Roofflaps' comments concerning Jr. and Teresa. The energy those two have expended on each other should be used to handle the situation at hand, namely winning a championship.True,if Sr. were around there probably wouldn't be the confusion, but,Dale Jr. has come into his own.Much like his dad he has ventured into the business end of stock car racing and has done quite well.I believe Jr. wants a stake in D.E.I and Teresa wants a stake in Jr.At the same time I'm sure Richard Childress is sharpening his pencil just in case.Could that black #3 be in our future....stay tuned

I couldn't agree with you more. It's kinda sad to see these two going at each other through the media instead of talking to each other. I think that is a big indicator of how bad their relationship has gotten. Jr. hates the business side of racing and Teresa is making his life difficult. This is a place where Jr. really needs his dad. How would this deal go down if Sr. were alive? It's ridiculous. The deal would be done and Jr. could concentrate on driving.

Where would DEI be without Jr.?

Oh, and welcome to the Jr. fan club.

I've always been an admirer of Junior's because of the way he has handled himself, and for his ability to drive a race car. He made it to the NASCAR Busch Series with limited help from his father, and that was admirable.

He's done things with a lot of class, and I'd like to see that classy streak continue in the No. 3 RCR Budweiser Chevy.

Maybe Jr is family oriented and doesn't want to destroy what his dad built by leaving.

I dont think you all give Jr enough credit!
I bet he has a plan to take over DEI .. and though he cant do it alone he has got enough money and power to get people who can!  I am with Akers i see a corporate takeover in next couple of years.. i read part of the contract hold up was Jr wanted 50% ownership.... well thats enough to force a buyout of the failing partner! just needs a majority vote!  doubt that wouls be hard to get!   jmo

I think its crazy. Jr has never done anythign to indicate he could run his own team. Hows JRMS doing? He needs to get off his high horse and realize he is JUST a driver.
The RCR Black #3 Bud car? Hmmm most people say their following of Jr has nothing to do wth his Daddy...
BTW, RCR hasnt won a cup championship in...about 13 years...I dont see any reason why Jr would change that anytime son.

If Daddy wanted Jr to take over DEI he would have done it in his will. Do some research as to who started DEI. (Dale and Teresa) Jr's name is nowhere to be found, just because he is a half son dosen't mean he gets DEI handed to him. If he dosen't like it take a hike.
