What if?
A higher court decided today that ATT could not display their logo on the hood of #31 car, thus siding with NASCAR.
NASCAR  insures certain sponsors make the field by not allowing all the fastest cars to qualify. It is called racing, but NASCAR decisions follow the $.
Can you imagine the fallout if #24 Dupont failed to qualify, thus putting it on the same playing field as the others?
What if: ATT,Alltel,UPS, NAPA, and a host of others issued the following joint statment. (ain't gonna happen)
We the above name companies are withdrawing our interests as soon as legally possible from NASCAR until NASCAR decides create a level playing field for all entries.

Hey, I totally agree.  I think it is very terrible of NASCAR to claim they are for competition but ban sponsors, remember when the #99 went without a sponsor and nearly shut down because NASCAR wouldn't let Crown Royal sponsor the car?  Same situation but I have to wonder if they would be making a fuss if not for the decent chance that Burton will won a championship.  I love my racing but I hate when things like this happen, I hate when Jeff Gordon wins the Coke 600 and there is controversy because he had to drink a Pepsi in victory lane.  Just the whole thing is insane!  Trust me, Brian France will ruin the sport.  You can already see it this year with the lackluster TV coverage and the more and more mainstream NASCAR has gotten.  I just watched the 1985 Daytona 500 and saw confederate flags and shirtless fans, now it Rihanna and Red Bull, not saying that the red neck NASCAR is better but a happy medium was nice.......
