At 3:08 CDT Cristiano Da Matta struck a deer at Road America in Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin. Da Matta was airlifted to a local hospital, but was unconscious. Hopefully Da Matta is alright and will be ready to go for Denver next weekend. He clipped the dear with his right front and the deer struck him then tore off the roll hoop which sits behind the cockpit. There hasn't been any update on his condition, but I ask that you pray for Da Matta.
Champ Car Race at Edmonton starts at 1:00 PM ET on CBS. Edmonton was one of the best and most exciting race I've seen in awhile last year. Very close tight packed racing on an airport circuit with loads of passing. Defending winner Sebastian Bourdais will start from pole, but arch nemesis Paul Tracy will start next to him. The last time these two got together Tracy's car was on Bourdais' head. Thankfully Bourdais was ok, but the rivalry continues. American yes I said American AJ Allmendinger is going for four wins in a row Sunday, but he will have to do it from the 4th position. Thanks for reading my first blog and hopefully we are treated to an exciting race tomorrow in Edmonton.
