Dream Falls Short for Hylton
With the laps winding down, James Hylton was in position to transfer to the Daytona 500. THen, the caution came out with a dozen laps remaining. Rather than help his chances, the time behind the pace car and resulting restart doomed the hopes of the 72 year-old-driver, the 1966 NASCAR rookie of the year. Here's what James Harvey had to say after stepping out of his No. 58 Retirement Living Chevrolet: “It was a pretty tough run. The car handled real well. We had a clutch problem. I couldn’t get off on the restart. That’s what beat us. We had a good enough car to do what we needed to do, but that’s racing. We’ll have to get them next time." How do you feel" "I feel good. It’s a good feeling. I didn’t feel that good when they were back there wrecking. It was one of them, ‘close your eyes and do a Hail Mary.’ That brought back a lot of memories, getting through wrecks. I can’t say enough for the boys. They’ve worked real hard on the car. Just one of them mechanical things you can’t do anything about. I’m happy with the run." Will you race again: "We’ve got other races scheduled this year. We’ll be back here for the Fourth of July.”
