IS IT PRO BIKE PARITY OR $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$
9/3/2006 6:37 AM
IMO "parity" is NOT giving a competitor a roughly 50% advantage in engine size.
Why not regulate the Chrysler Hemis in TF and FC from 500 cubic inches to 300 so the 454 Chevys could be competitive????????

I say it's the money.Nhra watched the stands empty when the P/S bikes rolled up.Why?There was only one brand,Suzuki. No Honda,Yamaha,Kawasaki,(exept for Scali)Bmw,Moto Guzzi,Ducati,or Triumph.Yawn! Now with Harley Davidson in the mix nobody leaves the stands, frankly it's quite the oppisite. You might not like it but you pull those V-twins out of there and P/S bike would wither.Personally i've always been a fan of Antron Brown.Speaking of money can you imagine the marketing bonanza,BONANZA if Antron was riding a Vance and Hines bike,WOW! I have said this before, pre Harley the performance of Suzuki was flat. For years.YAWN.Bud i'm a Mopar man too and i remember how both Nhra and Nascar screwed Chrysler (and Ford) because they were both crushing GM.Look at what became of P/S cars after GM got it's way,20 years of boredom.Oh and don't forget P/S trucks, the S stands for snooze in s-10.What idiot thought up that class?(the same one that axed the modified production classes?)Anyway i know i'm rambling but i think you get my point. You folks have a good day.

Yeah, especially when they could have had Pro Mod become a real NHRA National Event Class instead of this "exhibition status" it appears to maintain forever! Make Pro Mod an actual comp. class with 16 car fields and watch the fans eat this up as you can see late model bodies verses nostalgia bodies. The best of both worlds IMO.
I know NHRA was trying to corner the marketing success that NASCAR had gained with the Craftsman Truck but it didn't work. Like the truck venture, NHRA is monkey see, monkey do with this new points deal starting next year so what's next, Top 10 points cars in each class guaranteed a starting spot on Sunday? Mark it down folks because it's coming!

NHRA should have this at National events if they want to keep butts in the seats between rounds.

and you knew that was going to come...look at GM...if theyodn't get they way they just pull out. When SCCA wouldn't change the rules to favorthem when Rousch was winning, then they pulled their cars from that to IMSA until Rousch went there and started to beat up on them...only by threatening to pull everything out did they get their way. Lookat cashcar this year...rumor goes out that GM is looking to leave cashcar and all of a sudden (volah) chevy's have won nearly every race since the rumor was floated...
I agree with you over pro/stock it's absolutely boring for anyone other then a GM fan because the dodge and ford car's are no longer competitive and have been rules changed ot of being competitive..what I'm curious about is what will happen in FC next year since force is working with Ford to make a complete Ford motor for FC...no Keith Black motor...a straight Ford motor...let's see what happens if he starts winning with it...
anyone want to bet when the rules change will occurr??

Now you have basicly thoe whole field within a ttenth of a second. Harley needed to get into the picture. Competition is good. Earlier post said people left the stands, when it was all Susuki. It takes tons of $$$, but now you have interest in the bikes.
It helps when some of the riders are cool looking too.

Ford does not have a legal engine that can qualify, let alone win. No doubt NHRA might change the rules to allow a special made engine. I know you must be a big Ford fan because they are the only ones always complaining about rule changes which cannot be verified. You live on other Ford fan rumors.

Come on hemi, Ford fans are the only ones that complain about rule changes? What about you, a Mopar fan that never stops complaining about Ford. Complaining (justified or not) is what most people do when their favorite brand, driver, team, political party, etc, doesn't do well.

actually the reason I said that is that Force pubically commented that he was working wtih Ford to make a NHRA legal motor that was all-Ford. However giving that GM will want to do the same after that is why i made the rules change comment...
