Hornish to the Busch series next year

Would anyone like the comment about yesterday's announcement that Sam Hornish Jr. will be running some Bush and ARCA races next year for Penske racing? It's obvious that Sam has his long-term financial future in mind and Penske wants to hold onto him.

One way to get talent in a hurry but don't the trucks pair up with IRL more than Busch.

You know I was thinking that exact same thing. I'm not sure Penske is a believer in the trucks. I don't think Ryan Newman ever spent any seat time in a truck before he moved up to the cup series. I think this is about equipment as well. Penske as the resources for Busch and an ARCA ride but not in the trucks. Although, Erin Crocker's seat might be available soon.

Didn't Sam say the only thing he needed to do left in the IRL was to win the Indy 500? He'll be in NASCAR soon.

Yeah, maybe it's time for Toney G to quit talking to Forsythe and KK about a merger and start talking to the NASCAR people about a merger that would really make sense and be a benefit to all.
Wonder how long CCWS would last if that were to happen.

UPDATE: Reports that Indianapolis 500 champion Sam Hornish Jr. would be running races in the NASCAR Busch and ARCA Series next year in addition to his Indy Racing League schedule are premature. "There's no confirmation," Team Penske director of marketing and communications Chris Schwartz said. "They're considering a plan that would allow Sam to run some Busch and ARCA events next year. The details of that plan are tentative. Some people are thinking that this is something more than it really is."(

Not even in your dreams would that happen. CCWS is on the way out. It is in pain and agony at the moment and should be put out of it's miesery. The sooner the better!

As much as I hate to see Sam Hornish, Jr. go to NASCAR in the not too distant future, I have to admit that his fate will be there. It is in the cards since he truly struggles on street and road course tracks and if the merger between Champ Cars and the IRL takes place by 2008, look for Sam to be a full timer(clause for Indy 500 one-offs) for NASCAR naturally in a Team Penske stock car.
