Comp Field at Atlanta

After a rather short field at Vegas last race and NO Street Roadsters, it is nice to see a total of 39 show up at Atlanta and the '33 Chevy B/SR of Anthony Bartozzi is leading Qualifications after one run with a -0.649. Good luck, Tony.

This is a very competitive class; I wish it could be divided up in separate ranks so they could run head to head and then use the tree for delayed starts to determine the overall class winner.
Some of these cars are venturing into the 6s ET wise and 200 mph.
There's quite a few I-6s in the class and I really like to see them live and hear the thunderous sound off the line.

Yeah, I always check out the Comp action on the web and at the track. I usually make it to the Fram/Autolite Nationals at Sears Point (nee Infineon) in July.
Last year had a nice chat with Jeff Lane who was driving a B/SR. It turned out it was his last race in the car, since it belonged to some guy back in the mid-west and it was going back. In any event, Jeff won the Div. 6 Comp Elim title last year in the car. It was running a SBC.
This year he is running super stock.
