Noted IRL journalist questions Tony George's conce

Question: I was at the Milwaukee race today, and saw a great race. I am concerned that IRL will not have as many as 16 cars to finish the season - D&R seem to be out (if you even consider Briscoe runnning substantially slower as even in this one) and the rumor at the track was that Meira in the wall might have seriously damaged their season. How many cars do you see in the final four races? Will this TG's attention? (Stephen from Milwaukee, Wisconsin)
Answer: I can't imagine Panther doesn't continue, but your point is well taken. I can't get a read on TG as to whether he's concerned. He understands the teams have to figure out some things for themselves.

Business need to make money. You cannot run a series and support
all the teams like Chump car and stay in business long. Dont
worry Rope the IRL isnt going anywhere.

Right. The IRL hasn't been going anywhere for 11 years.
As a fan of both series, I'm hoping that the two will finally get
together. We deserve all the best drivers in one racing series, not
split into two weak leagues that are supported by the owners.
Don't be so fast to criticise someone else, when Tonybucks are the only thing keeping the IRL in business.
It's the same for both of them except that TG finally woke up and is
creating CART 2 instead of his all American, all oval series. I think
it's wrong to have so many CCWS street races and so few ovals in their
schedule.

They've had 11 years to go somewhere, why would they start now?

I remember on SPEEDNews that they said TG gave alot of teams money to get 33 for Indy. Now, if he did that for Indy, how many is he still financing for the rest of the season?

I dont have too. Curt's piece is an opinion piece which is pure
speculation on his part. I hear the same junk every year and its
sooooooo old.
