Race of Champions
12/13/2007 10:56 AM
The ROC is this weekend at Wembley Stadium 16 Dec.
I can't sit through the entire thing, but I do find it interesting. Last year Travis Pastrana did some serious butt kicking as no other American decided to show up. The guy was literally running from one car to the next to make the starts. It rained and the stadium had significant standing water.
I'd love to see him partner with Stewart, but the Americans are definately at a disadvantage, but hey maybe Travis can pull another miricale.

The official site is http://www.RaceOfChampions.com
America will be represented by Jimmie Johnson and Travis Pastrana.
They will compete in 5 different types of cars. http://www.raceofchampions.com/cars,20.html
I believe this is Johnson's second trip. Unfortunately, I don't think this will really suite Jimmie's talents.

This is the fourth time in six years Johnson has been invited ('02,
'04, '06 as well). He didn't participate in '06 because he was
injured. His replacement Scott Speed was also injured, and the
other drivers they asked (Sam Hornish, Kurt Busch) declined due to
other commitments. That's why Pastrana drove by himself.
