In TF, nobody goes home as there are only 16 cars.  When 2nd round of FC qualifying started track temp just a few minutes before was 140 degrees.  Man, for a nightime session!  WTF!

So far on the point after 2nd round:

TF: Fuller

FC: Burkart  (yeah pretty cool!)  Baze 8th, Capps 9th makes for interesting first round that Shoe will hate.

The Comp field is a little short by 9 cars.  Hope they don't eliminate that class at Seattle in the future.

Glad to see Jeff Lane and his B Street Roadster qualified 3rd.  The SR's (and real Altereds) are guys I root for when they show. Cheers [:cheers]

You may also notice that TF only has 16 cars as well.  Problem was IHRA had an event also this weekend but it got rained out.  My guess is some of the east coast racers who might make the western haul or some western IHRA regulars who hit some of the western NHRA events opted to go east with the IHRA.

But again, this is only a guess on my part.  I'm like you however in hoping they change nothing with comp.  IMO, best class in drag racing period!

Warning!  Spoiler - They are just getting thru round 1 on ESPN2

Top Fuel - Schu over Grubnic
FunnyCar - Whit over Capps
PS - Allen Johnson over Tom Martino
PS notes - Erica Enders didn't make the field (18th), Jason Line RED LIGHT first round -0.015 with an ET of 6.741 (best of entire finals), Kurt Johnson and WJ both lost on hole shots...as usual, unpredictable. Smile [:)]

Don't know anything about Larry Dixon's sitution.  But I believe most teams would miss *** LaHaie's expertise.
***  Geez, this new board still has the stupid "bad word censor" so you can't use D!ck!  Give me a break!  Thumbs Down [:thumbdown]  Angry [:angry]

Wait A Minute!  I thought Jeff Gordon was gay!  Is that his real girlfriend in the pic or is he doing the "Rock Hudson" thing?
