I've never heard of Dustin Long or his Frankly Speaking blog, but it was featured by Duane Cross on NASCAR.com, so I gave it read. I'm not sure what the rest of his stuff is like but Spencer, Petty and McReynolds sure stirred the pot recently.
It's was a five part series from a discussion. You can access the five parts here.
Some of you may be put off by the opening line, but I encourage you to read it through. I dont agree with everything written here and I don't hold Spencer in too high regard, but he does make some interesting points.

Good article but I may be a little concerned with Macs statement

" McREYNOLDS: But the biggest problem and I say this when it comes to anything, not just race cars or racing. It’s not a problem if you realize there’s a problem".

Good one Larry.  Get rid of the ffin chase.  That's the problem...

Most of us have been saying it for quite some time, Cookie cutter tracks and canned drivers.    Gee, glad the upper echelon has figured it out, now how do they fix it. They'll probably tell the drivers to be more animated, this aught to be good, NASCAR issues directive BE MORE LIFE LIKE!!!!!.      lol     Duane
