Re: Ford tops Toyota in this years quality surveys

In the past I was a Chevy fan, and I love Chevy, today, but...since getting my '99 Ford Crown Vic Police Interceptor, I have decided that Ford isn't so bad. In fact they are good sturdy cars. Dodge may profess to be Ram tough, but Ford IS tough!! ![Chest Ram [:chestram]](/emoticons/chestram.gif)
My Significant Other has a '73 Ford F100, and it is STILL going strong. Pulls our boat and takes him back and forth to work. Doesn't look real good, but runs and sounds Great!![Thumbs Up [:thumbup]](/emoticons/thumbup.gif)
The only thing I don't like about Ford is the new headlights. They get water in them no matter how much you seal them. Also, the electrical systems are a headache. Though my car hasn't had any problems, other Ford/Lincoln cars that our company owns has had problems with the light switches. That is the first thing that is replaced. The timer cut off switch messes up. You will be going down the road and the lights will flash off and on. We have to change the switch to a regular switch and usually that fixes it.
Our company has had Caddies as taxis, but the arm rests are the first thing to go. Tooo dainty for a taxi. Air bag suspensions are a headache too. We had a couple of Caprices, one was an old model, and I think it is still on the road somewhere. We sold it to a driver because you can't run cars after a certain time limit. The other one was crashed about 2 weeks after we got it, so don't know how it would have held up. Crown Vics are cheaper, and they just keep going and going just like that Pink Rabbit beating the drum.![Banana [:banana]](/emoticons/banana.gif)
I would guess that some of our Crown Vics have over 450,000 miles on them and still going. We have gone to vans more now days. They hold up, but parts are more expensive than the Vic. Most are Chryslers and Dodges. Lot of problems with suspension and front ends.
A rear wheel driven car/van just holds up better than a front wheel drive. That might change in the future, but for now it is true.
Chevy will have my heart, but Ford has my respect!![Smile [:)]](/emoticons/smile.gif)
