9/18/2006 4:58 PM

From Jayski.............Walker to BDR truck team? hearing there will be an announcement soon that past World of Outlaw Champion Tyler Walker will be behind the wheel of Rockford-Montgomery's #36 360 OTC Toyota Tundra in the Craftsman Truck Series, fielded by Bill Davis Racing.(9-17-2006)

I dont believe Tyler was a champ in any series he has ever ran... I know he isnt a past...World of Outlaw champ...he might have won a few races but never a championship..

Sir, you are Wrong... Tyler did win the 2002 World of Outlaws Gumout Series Championship... he won it going away at that.... Tyler will do a great job in that truck... with Akins (his Busch ride) he never got any testing time or seat time other than race weekends... Look for Tyler not only to do well, but look for him to Win races...

Go Tyler!

Tyler Walker was a prospect of Ray Evernham until Erin Crocker came along. Tyler did race for the Dodge developmental program in the Busch Series for the old Braun racing ream, but was horrible and was canned.

Tyler Walker was absolutely dreadful in his stint in the Busch series a year or two ago sharing the seat in the 38 Great Clips car. When I say dreadful...I mean it. Words cannot describe how bad he was....

Another reason Tyler got the seat in the 38 was he was big buds with Kasey Kahne who was giving up the full time ride in the 38.

And just further proof of how Evernham treats his non-female developmental drivers.

I need to back up Tyler... Akins NEVER took him testing and to say he was dreadful is poor judgement... he ran well... in the top 10 lots of times but didn't get the seat time or experience needed to stay in the top 10... his finishes weren't great but if you watch tapes he was always up on the wheel... 7 top 15 Qualifying runs...and he lead a few Practice sessions as well...

He ran 19 races in the Busch Series in 04 & 05... His average finish is 27th... not great, but he did have 7 runs in the top 20 and a few in the top 15... with Zero testing... poor results? yes... But dreadful? hardly! :-)

Haha the world's lone Tyler Walker fan other than his parents and his boyfriend Kasey Kahne comes out of the woodwork.

Sure some of his qualifying runs were decent because there were no other cars on the track!!

Whenever he would be running in the top-10 he would always wreck his car!!

Out of 16 career starts in the 38 Akins Great Clips car-which was good equipment, he DNF'd in 6 of them. His best finish was a 14th place at Lowes Motor Speedway. His 2005 average starting position was 19.8 and his average finishing position was 28.2. This was the weak Busch series!

Kahne won races in that car! Clearly the car was capable of winning! They didn't need testing, that's what practice was for!!! He even had rookie practice!!!

Walker 16 starts. 0 wins, 0 poles, 0 top-5, 0 top-10, 6 DNF, highest 14th, avg. 28.2.

Kahne 22 starts   2 wins, 3 poles, 6 top-5, 6 top-10, 3 DNF, highest 1st, avg. 18.2.

Let the facts speak for themselves. Walker was dreadful!

Take a look at Kasey's rookie stats... they look very similar to someone elses... and he had more races...

They aren't that similar. Kahne actually got a top-10 and his average finish is 22nd. And running at the end of 17 of 20 races is much better than 10 of 16. Walker's average finish was 28th. That's not good.

I've watched Tyler Walker and  Kasey Kahne both with  the all-stars ( sprints ) here in Ohio. Close to around the same time period. Mid 1990's.  I'd say they were pretty equal then. Although Tyler was probably a little more reckless. He's also the first driver backflip I saw. And he does his running.
