The same company that owns Albertson Super market called Cerberus has bought them.

To be honest, I hadn't heard alot about Cerberus until about February when they began working on buying Chrysler. It seems like they have some good car guys working with them in rebuilding Chrysler. I believe Chrysler has a better chance of surviving in Cerberus hands than it did in Daimler's hands. Heck, Daimler paid 36 billion for Chrysler and basically gave it to Cerberus. Also, I am very glad that it is an American company again.

I posted this in another thread but that one turned into a political debate so I might as well repost this here since I am bored.
Cerberus definitely is persuing some larger strategy here than the
usual private equity firm chopshop operation. The cast of experts they
have on staff and the other automotive related assets the have acquired
don't fit with that scheme. They have 51% of GMAC, are part of the
bailout attempt being negotiated for Delphi, own Tower Automotive
(parts manufacturer), own seating-fabric maker Guilford Mills and
Peguform Group. They have former Chrysler Chief Operating Officer
Wolfgang Bernhard, former Ford
Vice Chairman David Thursfield, former Ford sales executive Robert
Rewey, and former Chrysler sales and marketing executive Gary Dilts on
staff. Other automotive related assets are bus manufacturers Blue Bird
Corp and North American Bus Industries. This really looks like a
serious commitment to the automotive industry and a larger plan.
I
wouldn't be surprised if they played the chopshop card with the union
negotiators but I don't think its their goal if they can help it.
