http://nwracechat.com/     After a horrific crash this weekend in Indiana Sakgit Speedways own Travis Rutz was critically injured and had to be lifeflighted to a Indianapolis hospital.  They put him into a induced coma for some time so he could rest and after a five hour surgery today he is resting well.

We all seem to take life for granted and yet we never know.   Please keep Trav and his family in your prayers...here are a few links to follow his progress..Gods speed travis, you are a fighter...

We had a Helmet Pass for Travis at Silver Dollar Speedway during the final night of the Pacific Sprints Fall Nationals on Saturday.  Raised some $4600+ for the Rutz fund.  Here's a link to the story and pix on Hoseheads NorCal forum www.hoseheadforums.com/forum.cfm?ThreadID=35141

Some of the drivers participating, Photo #1, from left to right were, Alissa Geving, Kyle Larson, Logan Forler, Kyle Hirst, Jonathan Allard, Sean Becker and Jason Statler.  Allard also ran Travis' 8R number on his Willliams Motorsports Zero car for the weekend to honor Travis.
Photo #2, Kyle Larson.
Photo #3, Jason Statler and Jon Allard.
Photo #4, Allard, Statler and Alissa Geving (and, I think, the back of Sean Becker's head.)

Hang in there, Travis, we are praying for a complete recovery.

The pix are courtesy of Steve Cox, GraphXDesigns.com. (He was on Allard's pit crew for several years).

Thanks, Mr. D. It sounds like he is getting a bit better.  Man, its so hard to imagine that kind of injury to a nice kid like Trav.
Will be in Ariz.  The first of Nov.  At the Hotrod Reunion this weekend in Bakersfield.  Good time, but I saw the 83 Beefpacker car going up 99 yesterday...... Hmmmmmmmm  Hanford???

TK and the Roth Motorsports 83jr  guys won the final GLR Series race of the season at Ocean Speedway, Watsonville, on Fri. night, 10/16.  Ocean did a heck of a job to pump out the water from the storm earlier in the week and get the track ready to race.

Hoseheads - NorCal link

Next race - Tulare's Trophy Cup - next weekend.

Have fun at the HotRod Reunion.  That's one my list of things to do someday.

from Travs Dad on   nwracechat.com

Travs tragic accident was three weeks ago yesterday and is slowly coming out of the coma...

Hi everyone cold but nice day here today. Travs doing great again today his eyes are starting to open a tiny little bit when we bug him. I think he is gonna be mad at all of us for bothering him when he is trying to sleep. Got a call from Jimmy Carr and he invited us to come and check out the Tony Stewart sprint car shops. It was nice to get away for a couple of hours. Kathy stayed with Trav but the rest of us went. There shop is just a little nicer than ours back home. One word that comes to mind is awesome. Tony has been a huge supporter of Travs benefits coming up I think everyone that comes will be blown away. Jimmy if you read this thank you so much it really was nice to get out for a while. Pat and Wayne are leaving in the morning so we said our goodbyes tonight ,that was tuff we have all become so close. Well Im going to watch the rest of the cup race with Trav then Im going to bed...Till tomorrow be safe and hug your kids....Doug

One of the fundraisers for Trav is today (http://www.nwracechat.com/forum84/16330.html). I can't wait!!! Sooooo many people donated some very cool stuff for the auction. For example, my husband (Tony Stewart) sent out several things... including the entire side panel to one of his cup cars.... ....

It's looking like Trav might be stable enough so they can fly him back home. There's no place like home...

Good to hear he's getting better one day at a time.  He's a hero to many.  On a different note, I didn't know Tony Stewart was married, thought he was still working the field.  Good for Smoke, and Mrs. Smoke.

I think he's still workin' the field RatB. I haven't had a chance to tell him he's married yet... .... hahahaha...

The benefit for Trav tonight was great. I just love it when people come together and pool whatever resources they have to help a member of the family (racing family). Brings a little hope back into the world.

Here's some pictures from the event (including some of the items that were donated). One of the auctioneers kinda reminded me of Smoke. Lucky for him... I didn't drink... therefore... preventing myself some embarrassment.... hahahaha...
