Instead of having recent posts and activity down there (which i personally find pointless), can you put the pm action in there and maybe a buddy list again, I don't know how many people used this but I did......
Oh and how can tell if a poster is online, bring back the lights...

Only thing that sounds like a good idea which was good at the other forum is the online light!!
