Robby buying RYR? The LTN Radio Network has learned that Robby Gordon has purchased Robert Yates Racing,
#88 and #38 Cup teams and #90 Busch Series team to be effective this
week. The Yates-Roush engine program is not included in the sale. No
word on the status of the contracts between RYR and sponsors
M&M/Mars and Citifinancial, and how they will be affected by the
sale.(LTN Radio Network)(8-15-2006)

Yea thats uh.......interesting. I could see him switching to Hendricks engines though......he didn't seem to pleased with the dei power he had in the last race.

That's beyond a funny rumor.....It's just crazy talk. Robby is a Chevrolet man, he'd not go around buyin' junk ford stuff that's for sure.

How costly could a bunch of wrecked yellow cars and out of date brown cars cost?
Funny during this years Baha 1000 or Dakar or whatever, he said that his truck cost more than all his nextel cup cars combined. I wonder if he has more than two cup cars???

True about the price, and with no engine package which is where the Yates money really is, I guess it could be "cheap". He's so Chevrolet though, I don't see it happening.

After the Busch race Robby mentioned that he was running a
Menard Engine in his Busch car. Than after the Cup race he said that he told
the engine builder that he wanted an engine that would stay together the whole
race. Than he related the two engines as if they were from the same builder.
Did he switch back to Menard power in the cup car? I know that he said that the
DEI power was only temporary until Menards engines were up to par.
Although there have been a lot of rumors this year about Robby expanding or
negotiating purchasing another team, this rumor is a little hard to bite. Is
LTN even a credible source? I guess we will see though.

If he is just buying the cars and the shop...couldn't he run them as Chevy's?

I recall that there was something on Jayski a couple weeks back about Robby and RYR. However, this just popped up on Jayski, but we all know how the denial of rumors often turn out.
Robby buying RYR? UPDATE Denied: The LTN Radio Network has learned that Robby Gordon has purchased Robert Yates Racing, #88 and #38 Cup teams and #90 Busch Series team to be effective this week. The Yates-Roush engine program is not included in the sale. No word on the status of the contracts between RYR and sponsors M&M/Mars and Citifinancial, and how they will be affected by the sale.(LTN Radio Network), if this is true...
UPDATE: a representative from Robert Yates Racing says this is NOT True and will not happen, denying that Yates is selling to Robby Gordon.(8-15-2006)

That is too funny. I will have to agree with other posts how creditable is the other web site that won't come up? I say it's a fugazi just to stir stuff up. Because if this were the case who is gonna drive the cars? Surely not Robbie becau
