It took long enough for them to show they're doing something. Of course, all the top ends on the tracks needed to be upgraded but the cars can't keep going faster and quicker for ever. There has to be a limit. Some say that the "show" hasn't been hurt by 1000' racing. All the runs sound like early shut offs when your at the track. I attended my first 1000' show in Baytown and spent more time in the pits than ever, which isn't a bad thing. From what I heard in the stands, some people had no clue that they were running a shorter distance. Anyway, nobody has posted on the NHRA side here since February. What happened to the NHRA fans who used to post here?

Leave it the way it is.  I'd rather see em run 310 mph in a thousand fet then 310 mph in 1320 feet (a quarter mile).   That's what it will boil down to.  They want to keep speeds down.  Well, would you rather see them run 310 now or 310 in a quarter mile.  Like going backward.  Its impressive the speeds they get to in a thousand, but getting to that same speed in an additional 320'????

They can't "leave it the way it is". They are already scaring 320 MPH to death at 1000'. When the whole idea is to go faster than the other guy, the crew chiefs don't stop improving on the current setup. Eventually they will be running over 320 and faster. Then what, 1/8 mile racing? See how many people you get to show up for that.

320 MPH is fine, They wanted the 320 extra feet to stop.
