Penalties?

Well, it's 5:15PM CST and I've yet to see anything about penalties handed down to Dale Jr or JR Motorsports/HMS for the decklid and spoiler issue at Daytona.  Will there be penalties?

Driver Dale Earnhardt, Jr. has been penalized with the loss of 50 championship driver points, while car owner Rick Hendrick has been penalized 50 championship owner points. Crew chief Chad Walter has been fined $25,000 and suspended for the next six NASCAR Nationwide Series events until April 9 and placed on probation until Dec. 31, 2008.

You'd think after countless incidents of cheating by the Hendrick Cup and Busch teams they would just suspend the whole offending team from the track for a race or 2..or 5 or 6. This suspending crew chief business and fining people isn't worth a damn. Make the team/car sit out for once.

A point penalty for a part time Whacker team is a slap on the hand ...with a feather.Rolls Eyes [:rolleyes]

Here's a thought to quell cheating by multicar teams, one gets caught, the owner and all the teams he owns get a week offWink [;)]
