Madder than....

....a legless Etheopian watching a doughnut roll down a hill.

....David Duke watching Roots.

Is it just me or does Jr have the WORST pit crew in NASCAR?  I'm not just talking about the incident that virtually stole the win from him.  It seems like EVERY TIME he's in the pits he loses positions.  And why didn't he go with 2 tires on that last stop?!?  He ran AWESOME the other time he changed just two.  They need to change some things at DEI.  Get the family members out and get the best people possible in.  I don't care who they are or what they cost.  Success costs money, and DEI has the money to spend.  I would have LOVED to hear Jr's in-car radio after that stop.  I would have been LIVID!  You can't tell me that the guys he has working the pits right now are the best they can afford.  Dangit!

yes they do seem to have a pretty crappy crew, they changed 4 on the last stop because they thought they could use the high line to get past everyone on 2 or no tires, which would have worked like a charm had they made the right adjustments and not lost the handle on the car.  they consistantly lose spots on pit road and only have about 2 or 3 races in a whole season where they actually gain him some spots.

i can understand about the bad pit stops but that really bad one Jr had wasnt anyones fault really. they said that one of the lugnuts wouldnt come off on that back tire and had to do it by hand and that took the time. 17 spots is alot to lose but atleast he came back to finish in the top 10. was there other ones that were that bad during the race? i missed some of it.

They lost several spots during the first pit-sequence they took part in.

My issue is that this is a recurring theme each and every week.  Of the cars out there that are actually competitive, Jr seems to have the worst pit crew.  That is something, towards the end of The Chase, that can win or lose a championship for you.  And I think it's a good example of how DEI is falling behind the rest of the teams.

Today, it is a pretty crappy crew. But the next time Joonyer wins, you will be saying he has the best crew.

Well, that may certainly be true but even if it happens, it will still be no match for the Blue Ofal fans that still Claim NASCAR cheated Ford out of a Cup over 15 years ago.

Yesterday, the lug nut deal was the only real bad thing that happened.  On other pit stops, they lost a few positions because other teams chose to take only two tires and that remedied itself on the track shortly thereafter.

On the last run, Junior got boxed behind the Rolling Roadblocks of Penske and Frontrow Joe.  Had that not cost him several laps, he's looking at a Top-4 finish instead of 6th.

Of course, it could have been driver error to get boxed like that but it wasn't the fault of the crew.

I feel like Jr's crew has struggled a little with pit stops all year. As far back as the Bristol Spring Race, he made a comment that they needed to take lessons from Truex's crew. The problems yesterday was a little different, but he has lost a lot of spots in the pits many times before this.

He doesn't do a very good job of keeping his crew motivated, however they are professionals and should be able to just get the job done.

I understand that the pit stop that cost them 17 spots wasn't because of any one guy or anything, but like has been said in this thread already, Jr seems to lose spots in the pits all the time.  Doesn't matter if everyone else is taking on 4 tires and fuel as well, he rarely gains any spots, and more often is losing spots.  A championship team can't have that happen as much as Jr's team seems to do it.  I don't know anything about motivation, but he shouldn't be having to get on the radio before a stop and give them a pep talk.  If anything, that should be Eury's job.
