I haven't followed Indy Racing for many years.  Won't go to the reason.
It seems I remember a driver being involved in a serious accident and he lost both legs below the knee.
If this is correct can you fill me in on who it was and what he is now doing?
Thanx  4 ur help!

There are a few gruesome pics and some videos of the crash if you google him.

Perhaps they can intice you back with the changes coming about over the next couple of years.

It was a CART race in Germany.
He is currently racing for BMW in the WTCC (World Touring Car Championship). I had some problems opening this page earlier.
The car is configured with hand controls.
He's been there since 2003 and has won a at least four races.
There's a good write-up on WIKI

Billy, a question for you.

You have a great deal of racing knowledge...especially about "American" racing.

Do you really live...."over there?"

Yup, I've lived in Thun since 2003.
I was born in Vermont though and grew up going to local tracks dirt and asphalt in the North East.
