Wow. I didn't know 'bout "Sarge".
Is this the tip of the iceberg? In my opinion, yes.
Time will tell. I was interested in the "Sarge" recall you mentioned, so I looked around a bit for more info.
Go to http://cpsc.gov/cpscpub/prerel/prerel.html
and you will find that there are so many recalled items of various kinds tht you won't have time to read 'em all!
Yikes! It is a buyer beware environment.
IMHO, the blame clearly lies with greedy corporate types who would rather cut cost at the expense of others to gain a profit or to increase their share price.
Why even call Mattell and other multi-national companies "American" any more. They only want your dollars and aren't even willing to pay an American a real wage to manufacture their products here in our own country. Too scared of the REAL cost I guess.

Saw this and thought I'd post it.
Lead in kids lunch boxes now.
I sadly find ironic humor in that this story about lead in lunch boxes from China is reported by the "Mercury" News.
Pretty sad that America has come to the point where it can't even manufacture its own kids lunch boxes.
