Back home again
8/10/2006 8:31 PM
The surgery Wed. on my son was a little more involved than they anticipated.  There wasn't much usable bone left, so they had to use a much bigger plate than anticipated.

But, the Dr. is pleased with the results so far, and we got to come home from the hospital about an hour ago.

Thank you again for all the thoughts and prayers.

Bless his heart.  I'm so sorry he's had to go through this.

Praying for a speedy recovery with no problems.

Is his vision any better?

No longer has double vision looking straight ahead.
Still some double vision looking up and down.
Dr. is not concerned, said that should go away as the swelling goes down.

The Dr. said straight ahead was the main thing, let's him know he got the eyeball back in line correctly.  He said everything looks good on the CAT scan.

Glad to hear it was a successful surgery!  Hope everything goes well!

My oldest got seriously hurt last year at one of his pro bulriding events.  He drove me nuts after being home the first week!  it wasn't the taking care of him that bugged me, it was the complaining that started after the first week - when he had watched everything on the tv and rewatched half of the dvds and played all his video games and then the dreaded boredom set in ........  That month seemed last forever ......... And don't piss off a person with crutches, they can reach further with those things!  LOL!

CMA, sorry about the delayed reply. I hate to hear about the accident, but I hope he is doing well post-surgery.
