From what I read in todays USA Today it looks like the layoffs could approach 35,000 . And GM is considering buyouts.....a quick aside on buyouts : A few years ago when I was about 2-4 years away from retireing from the Navy they offered me 50,000 bucks cash to quit early . I said no way Im retireing and a couple of years later did . The 50k they offered I made in little over 3 years give or take , and will continue to get it as long as Im not pushing up daisys . The buyouts seem like a good deal esp if a person is in debt but please for Gods sake if anyone is in a similar position talk to a finacial advisor . These big companies and the goverment think that by dangling big bucks in front of your nose that they can do anything .
