Now, if SK would just admit that he's been on the "deal" with Hoosier, and that this is why it will hurt him financially.
"Spec Series?"
Why didn't he complain when Hoosier was the mandated tire of the WoO?

Goodyear didn't have a very good tire when Hoosier came on strong. They and alot of blown tires toward the end!! I remember reading a article with Karl Kinser saying that he told goodyear they had better get things turned around in a big way or it would come back to haunt them. The man knew what he was talking about!!!!! Hope goodyear has their crap in a pile this time around????

karlos kinser knew what he was talking about? lol. you mean to tell me the guy that every part of a sprint car today has been shaped or copied from his wittling or ingeniuty had a speck of foresight? not many owners out there made their living racing, they made their living then went racing. ask anyone what it costs to drop the door every night and unload a sprint car, he will tell you. then ask him what he thinks of tire mandates and rules....i will bet on no less than 5 F words and 3 C suckers in less than a breath, 1 or 2 MF's in there too. the racers don't make a dime on tire mandates.....Woo does and the tire manufacturer. nothing beats a monopoly. next step is a shock and spring mandate, then chassis,wings.....then everyone has the same one lane stuff and is shooting for the same spot on the track.communism, napcar outlaws should be left alone and let them put on an awesome show.

I would think that sponsorship money comes into play here. We all know how it works. IMO Goodyear will put more of it than Hoosiyurdaddy tires did. What else matters besides that, nothing.

Everything, including the beer you buy at the track along with those chili-cheeze fries, are contracted with a percentage going to the WoO. Its business. Goodyear gave more $$$ than Hoozier was willing to spend for supplying tires. Hence, the change. Happens all the time. Even to Steve Kinser.

True...but you could run Goodyears on your left rear (so not a total monopoly there)....may not seem like a big deal....but ask Hoosier how big it is not to be able to run a rear tire at all (that's a freakin' monopoly!) I think it's a BIG DEAL! And still agree with Cracker.
And don't usually agree with the gentleman from Cali.....but......gotta give a nod to you this time Leon.

This is no different then Nascar and Sunoco fuel or Goodyear tires. People with expense of keeping these very expensive racing series going these deals are very common. There is a reason why it is called Sprint Cup and nothing to do with who makes the best phone. $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$
