Question for LT or anyone

I'm looking at used F250 diesels. I've come across a lot of Off Road models. What is the difference between the OFF ROAD models and the rest? Is it the gearing and not comfortable for all highway driving ? Going back to my off road racing of years past, off road meant exactly that. Some of these trucks are loaded with the Lariat package. Help will be appreciated.
Looked at new Super Duties with the Lariat package yesterday. $58.000. Only paid $20,000 for our first home.

Mine is a super duty FX4x4 which is "the off road model". that gives you more skid plates to protect you undercarriage ar ar....and somewhat stiffer shock packages. you need "stiffer shocks right"?
I received this info from my salesman when purchasing....

Thanks guys. I've been looking on e-bay and will travel to buy what I want. I found a 2006 with everything I wanted in Knoxville, Tn. but just missed buying it. They are hard to find in my area. I'll find what I want since I have plenty of time till next Spring. In the meantime I'll read everything I can. Still can't believe the price of new ones.
Thanks for the links, LT.
Found the info, thanks LT. By the way, momma said that she wants the Crew Cab. I had to agree or she won't let me have it. She likes the bigger back seats and as she stated , the kids ride with us to the races so get the 4 doors.

Nice. Sure low mileage. I actually had a 2000 E350 van. Had trouble with the serpintine belt coming off. Had to leave the van in Dallas once for a week , at the Ford dealer, so they could repair the damage done when the belt came off. The problem was the pulleys were not aligned properly when the truck was built. The Ford place said the problem was with the vans and pickups. The problem happened to me on several occassions until the problem was solved. The diesel was strong and got excellent fuel mileage. Actually I'm looking for a 2006 - 2007. Knowing this will be the last truck I'll own, decided I'm going to get what I want. Too many times I've gotten what I really didn't want because of price. Not this time.
