In reality.....anything can happen in the Big 12 this year.

I was always under the impression that OU was over hyping their QB situation too much anyway.....I don't think losing him will make THAT much of a difference....he's probably would have been dangerous next year.

Im looking forward to the season for sure.

Well since you are too lazy to scroll down two or three threads I copy pasted for you. texasterry commented on OU being screwed without Bomar the following was my reply:

Oklahoma is screwed as long as Stoops is the coach. His first year he stepped into a team that someone else recruited and built and has f'ed up by the numbers ever since. A GOOD coach can make adjustments, Bob Stoops can't. If a team finds his number in the first half they will really wipe his ass in the second half.

Oh, and yep, I'm a sooner fan. Just not a Stoop(id)s fan. Besides, Bomar wasn't all that great anyways. Stoop(id)s was especially stupid when he redshirted the kid and had his old balding, broke kneed QB from years before take every snap under center instead of grooming Bomar (or another QB who might have actually had brains and character and wasn't a lying cheat). A good QB has to have character. Marcis Vick and Bomar are prime examples that talent without character is meaningless. Bobby Bowden had a loser like that at FSU a couple of years ago and it set his team back 5 years. Ricks or something like that. Not to be confused with Bulldog coach Mark Richt who is an awesome man just ate up with honor and character.

Gotta love the story that Dallas Morning News' Kevin Blackistone told about. He was on a round table discussion about ethics in sports a few years back.

Who else was on that panel?

Highly-recruited high schooler Brett Bomar and his father, Aaron.

Your knowledge of sports and the goings on around sports is simply amazing. Why don't you have a job in a sports related field? Or do you? I  know that Smyce loves them and is actively persuing a career AS a sports broadcaster or announcer. The depth of knowledge in virtually ALL sports the two of you have is just (again) amazing.

Oh, BTW gotta love the irony of your post.

With Texas having a new QB and Oklahoma having QB problems...

...this could be Texas Tech's year.

They said the same thing about Nick Saban and where did he end up.  Baby Stoops and

Kirk Ferentz will both be NFL head coaches within 2 years...
