I get NSSN 3rd or 4th hand, in the June 18th issue, a sports writer was complaining about Earl B. being able to take care of the dust at Eldora and Tony hasn't been able too.  I watched the Dream on Speed, high Horsepower latemodels and there didn't seem to be any dust at all.  Maybe the guy is a "sports" writer and not a "motorsports" writer.  A stick and ball guy got a speck of dust in his eye and on his white shirt.

Also read, and not read here, that Lucas Wolfe was injured pretty bad in a wreck and is out for the forseeable future.  They will not and  have not put a sub driver in the car.

It rained all day for the Dream, they were lucky to get it in.  That's why no dust.  The track has been very dusty the last couple years.  NSSN is dead on.

tatnell1...Lucas has a cracked T4 vertebrae from a crash at Tri-City Speedway last month. He saw Dr. Trammel last week in Indiana and was not given clearence to get back in the car yet. He goes back out in early August to get checked again.

Thanks for the update Butcher Motorsports!  Have been wondering how Lucas is doing and appreciate the news on him.

Wanna wish Lucas well and hope to see him back this year...fully recovered.  Very unfortunate what happened to him, and will be cheering him on his first race out!!!

Get well soon Wolfe....from a fan in Iowa!!!!!

How could it get worse????  I've attended 2 of the Royal's in my lifetime (pre-Tony), and it was the dustiest place I have ever been to.  1st year I was there, they recieved 9 inches of rain during the week leading up to the race, dust during HOTLAPS.  2nd year, it rained all morning and again around 5 PM, the DAY OF THE RACE, dust in HOTLAPS again.

Sure, Earl went out between Hotlaps and Time Trials, Time Trials and Heats, Heats and "B" main, and between the "B" and the feature, but it only kept the dust down for 2-3 laps before it was dusty again,

It's not the track prep, it's the tires, engines, and most importantly:  THE CLAY, it's just dusty.....

Just my $.02

This made the 7th straight Kings Royal and a total of 10 for me. Plus I had attended 5 straight Historical Big Ones plus I can't count how many other races there over the years. If you saw the pixs I posted from the USAC race there this year you'd have seen nothing but dust. After 3 laps you could not see the cars. Two cars flipped in front of us and we didn't  see them until the red flag and the dust settled.
Friday night the track was great. Sunday night for Eldora fantastic. But a funny story. It started raining Saturday evening before the race started and didn't stop until 4:00am. I mean poured. I went and looked at the track at 12:30 pm Sunday and they were putting more water on the track and at 4:30 before hot laps and during the evening. The wider tires are tearing up the track and the clay doesn't help. Bring in Knoxville's gumbo.

Or maybe get some pointers from Earl?! The track is almost 1 second slower then it was when Earl had it. Racing not any better either.
