I ran a query on a news server that I use in the office. I used 72 hours as deadline perimeter. Interesting results. “Danny Lasoski” had 1842 hits “Brian Brown” had 1821 hits “Donny Schatz” had 852 hits. Usually you will see 100 or so hits for a WoO or NST driver on a weekend. Many people credit the rebirth of NASCAR to the 1979 Daytona 500 in which Bobby and Donny Allison got into a scuffle with Cale Yarbough on the first live national televised race, Yarbrough spins one Allison out and all he!! breaks lose. Those darn Rednecks and trailer trash just created a storm that still is growing today. Bill France has even said it was the start of NASCAR as we know it today. Sorry Pete but your ChiTown reporters do not remember that do they. Maybe thier arrogance caused them to fall into the deep dish while laughing so hard yet they do not really know what started the growth of NASCAR. I always wanted to know what I was and now I know. Guess I will have to go get a 16 x 80 trailer and park the cars on blocks for being a sprint car fan. Could the incidents of Saturday possibly with all the coverage lead to potentially a whole new set of sprint car fans as it did for NASCAR? I saw a documentary done on the incident in Daytona and Bobby Allison said “heck the next weekend we all were having a beer together.” Hope it works out that way for the Lasoski’s and their family feud takes the sport we love to another level.

I hope the fued takes the sport to the next level.  An accumulated deficit that stands at $53.2 million sure hasn't done it.

Even when prima Donny wins, he still gets no attention.  Most appropriate turn of events I think.

2006 Nationals will always be known as the weekend the Dood got his head up his arse, not for who actually won the thing.  LMFAO!!!

I am still looking forward to the retribution Kerry Madsen will be serving up on Danny's plate some night in the future.  I only hope he uses his fists instead of his bumper when he does it.  This I would pay to see.

J.J.  I regret to say that I think you are 100% correct.  I'm sad that we were given lemons in this situation, but we might as well anticipate and welcome the lemonade.

Is anyone here old enough to remember another Missouri family who made Knoxville history?  The Weld boys during the middle 1960's raced and won at the Nationals and they did it with lots of controversary.  On track fighting, holding up the races for each other, getting put out of the place, etc. etc.  Personally, I think the Lasoski, Brown, Madson deals made some new sprint car racing fans.  At least it wasn't another dull night. 

Charlie was this almost an every Sunday night occurance at Saline County?
Heck the racing I saw there beat the heck out of most Nationals and a lot of Hall of Famers there on weekly basis
Heck with all the publicity this has created (which the sport needs)  I think we should all draft a petition to put George and Danny in the Hall of Fame together.
They both deserve to be in it!!! jmo
