Hey Mr. Smyce!!!!

The showdown at the Swamp is just a few days away!!!!!Can not figure out why

the Tigers are 2 point favorites.....Defense will rule the day.  Percy Harvin

is the key player for the Gators the winner could run the table and be

in the BCS title game.  GOOD LUCK you'll need it....

Maybe because LSU has played a bit better than Florida to this point.

If Florida runs the table, it would be very difficult to justify them not being ranked #1.

they've got LSU, Georgia, Auburn and FSU on the schedule and I think they go to Tallacrappee, do they not? Auburn has always given them fits. They own Georgia until the Dawgs prove otherwise and FSU seems to get up for the Gators.

^ this year it ain't a matter of "owning" the Dawgs.  GA's really got to show they can play any decent team.  They're having too hard a time with nodobies...

We'll see what they're really made of when they play Tennessee.

you make a good point there. I watched a good part of their last game and Georgia's offense wasn't impressive at all.

MM, there's a good reason why LSU are the favorites.

First things first, referring to LSU as “your” when in reference to Spartan is just wrong. Spartan hates LSU. He is a Tennessee fan and attends Ole Miss, I don’t think it’s possible to hate LSU more.

Second, better QB? Not quite. Jamarcus Russell is one of the leading candidates for the Heisman Trophy. He is a stud who will be a very good professional quarterback. Chris Leak is undersized, untalented and very average. He is the most overhyped player I’ve seen in a long time. The savior of the program, Tim Tebow, is a freshman. Russell owns both of them.

Third, better defense? Are you kidding? I hope so. With the exception of Auburn, you will be hard pressed to find a better defense in the country than LSU much less in the SEC. We have 4 NFL players on the line, 3 in the secondary and arguably the best defensive player in the country, LaRon Landry.

Florida struggled to beat Alabama. I don’t want to down talk Alabama, but they aren’t exactly even in the same category of an opponent as LSU and without the inexperience of a freshman QB, Alabama wins that game. Too much to ask of a freshman to win that game, and a few mistakes led to Florida being able to pull it out in the fourth. Russell is, mark it down, THE BEST QB in the SEC. We have 3 NFL caliber RB’s that will run all over a very small Florida line. Florida’s secondary is their strongest part, and LSU even owns em in that department.

I’m not saying LSU is gonna walk into Ben Hill Griffin and stomp the Gators. 2 point favorites is exactly where this line should be. LSU is the better team, they just have a loss to the #2 in the country. Florida hasn’t played anyone (as you admitted in an earlier post this season Tennessee is bad and though I disagree, still pointing out your opinion) and this will be their toughest home game of the year.

In closing, LSU is better in every single aspect of the game. They haven’t even sweated a single game except when they played Auburn, on the road, and lost a 4 point game on arguably the worst call I’ve ever seen made. I wont be the least bit surprised if LSU goes in and wins big.
