Dear Steve @ Skagit Speedway and the Dirt Cup race teams
I’d like to thank each and every one of you rough and tough race heroes (but now known to me as big-hearted “ANGELS”) for the wonderful demonstration of support and respect for Fred that you so generously showed by donating your Friday night’s purse money to the Fred Brownfield Memorial Fund.
I can’t even begin to express how much this act of kindness has touched our family’s hearts. It is greatly and truly appreciated. It came just when I needed it and helped immediately with the shock and burden of so many unexpected expenses that came right when I was the least capable of figuring out what to do about them
My heart is still broken, but you have helped so much. I now know how I will respond the next time I learn of others who have lost loved ones - the gift will go on!
Race on, take care and God bless all of you.

Sometimes kindness and generosity do not need fanfare and headlines to be appreciated. Everyone that read that first post likely all felt the same way.
This was an incredibly kind gesture by Steve.
