Speed Tv coverage and the race

If you got Speed Channel and watched that race last night, you must think how could that not be on television every weekend.  Even a big, flat half-mile was great fun to watch. I thought they did an excellent job and part of the reason if you noticed, is that they had 4, possibly 5 cameras covering the track action which allowed for good replays from various angles and good race coverage.  Felt bad for Haud what with that car apparently not seeing him and moving all the way from the bottom to the top and pushing Haud very hard  into the wall.  And Haud:  "no big deal sort of remark".  Cool Guy. Also felt sorry for Pittman, had just gotten into the feature and gets taken out by a WoO regular.  Listening to the 5w comments, he apparently thought Pittman should just drive straight into the first turn wall and not make the turn thru 1 and 2.  But, that's the ups and downs of racing.  At least Pittman's owner gave him the thumbs up.  Need more of it.  Live tv got us a couple bad bad words, one from Pittman and one from the King.

I watched it this morning off DVR because we had to work at Eagle last night, and I loved it. Very good coverage I thought, but an awful lot of carnage.

Heck of a race for 1st & 2nd I thought. Donny gave it his all but just couldn't get past Greg. Everyone bags on Donny because he wants to win SOOO badly that nothing else is good enough. He admitted that he's a lousy loser, but that's what makes a winner.

I knew about Steve's back problem, and hope that he gets it completely taken care of over the WoO's off-season. He's another one who won't settle for anything but being the best, but his is tempered by so many years of experience that he knows that fecal matter occurs at times.

Same goes for Jac. He didn't get the nickname "Wild Child" by putting around the bottom 'ya know.

Pitman is no less driven than either of those 2, and unlike NASCAR our dirt track guys WILL show their emotion and not be fined for "Actions detrimental to racing" or some such BS.

Too bad sprint car racing isn't main-stream enough to garner a sponsor to allow it to be broadcast on a weekly (or more) basis. One of these days maybe. It's going to be a long winter, but aren't they all??

The best part was that no one actually got hurt, despite so many cars being torn up. Everyone emerged safe and can race another day.

Here's to a great last few races in an extremely close points race.

Watched the Napscar race today as usual, & the bike races, speeded thru the commercials (thank goodness for DVRs Pit Shack Guy) and was thinking how much more fun the race in PA was to watch than anything  they could possibly have on.  A great 4 hours.  congrats to Hodnet.  Loved that guy w/shaved head, think it was guy called Edge, not sure, but he had a smile on all the time.  He oughta sell that attitude. Like Jac, he has fun.  But got on the Williams Grove forum tonight for kicks and man, you wouldn't dare mention a word about Lucas Wolfe running over Pittman.  They'd tear you a new one.  I quietly left that forum.  About the bad words, Kinser's f word was mouthed, don't think there was audio of it, but you could see him saying it.  Live racing, it happens.
