getting a replacement SS card

I printed out and filled out the application from online. I have the ID I need to process the application.

My question is if you can just bring that info to a nearby SS office and they can process it while you wait or do you have to mail it in?

I tried calling the number but couldn't navigate throught the maze of automation to find a damm REAL person to talk to to answer my question.

Inquiring minds want to know.... did you have to Press 1 for Spanish or 2 for English?

of course..1 for english .. but that was the only buttons I pushed. This was one of those annoying "tell me what you'd like to do" automaters. Pressing 0 didn't bring me to a real person

but I'm thinking I can go to the office and just wait a little bit and get my card. I'm going to try that out tomorrow morning. *fingers crossed*

Are you talking Social Security or the German thing from 60 years ago?

I tried filing for Social Security online and finally gave up. Called the office and finally got tired of waiting. The computer told me I had a 7 minute wait and after answering the automated questions I held for 20 minutes before giving up. Obama will get it straighten out. Any ways I'm going down there in the A.M.
