Next time read the entire artical before posting, you only make yourself look stupid. Could be you are selecive with facts, you forgot to post this little bit,
GM, which has had the worst sales performance in percentage terms this year of any of the major automakers, posted a slight gain in sales in August in unit terms.
Last year at this time GM and Ford were giving vehicles away with employee pricing. At this time GM is the biggest loser for year to date sales. Year to date sales has GM at -12.1% vs Fords year to date at -10%.

GM had a weaker August in 2005 than Ford or Chrysler. It had initiated employee discounts a month before its crosstown rivals and the effect on its sales was fading by late summer 2005.
Is this the "some gains" you were talking about?
Following rivals' lead, GM to cut 4th-quarter production by 12%; auto sales flat overall in Aug.
Because you seem to get great joy from seeing fellow Americans losing jobs, maybe you shold move to Japan or Iran.
The combined market share of Detroit's automakers slipped in August to a near-record low of 52.3 percent from 54.1 percent.
