Restrictor Plates

In his post race interview Hamlin mentioned running restrictor plates at Kansas. Was he just referring to the
Toyota handicap, or were all the cars running restrictor plates?
From NASCAR.COM
"With restrictor plates on these cars, it's hard for anyone to get a run on you," Hamlin said. "I had a heck of a time getting around the 64 [Stremme], which was a lap down. It's tough. I knew once I got in front of [Harvick], he was going to have to be significantly faster than I was."

Don't know how many noticed the qualifying speeds for the two races were within a few tenths of a second of one another?

I noticed.
Did you notice Bristol?
At the last Bristol race the Cup cars were the slowest qualifiers of the weekend.
Cup Edwards 15.746sec at 121.86mph
NNWS Gale 15.727sec at 122.007mph
Truck Speed 15.491sec at 123.856mph
I thought it was odd for the premier series to be the slowest of the three. I was offered a few opinions at to why that was and basically told that it didn't matter. I still find it strange that drivers moving
up from the faster series to the slower cup series.
I cannot think of another form of motor racing where the support series are faster than the main.
