I have a 1/64th Bud (late 90s i think) car that came in a display case and a box that says John Andretti and Hendricks Motorsports  on the box (to small to read the name on the roof)  Does anybody know the story about this. I don't remember him even subing in that car.

Sorry I cant help ya on this one , could maybe be a sponsor thing or a potential sponsor thing . Who knows ? It may be a real oddity and rare car , but with John not being too marketable at the moment.....Myself Ive done about a hundred of potential sponsors and paint jobs......yes they can be done quickly and very realistic with a computer program but many sponsors want to see what the paint looks like "live" and they make great gifts for potential sponsors . I usually have to sign a release and destroy any pictures , decals etc when Im done......sure I could talk but that doesnt do future buisness any good . I just did a presentation for a major bank but the deal fell through.....I was paid hundreds of dollars , tons of paperwork and sample "hero" cards and shirts were made.....God knows how much money went into a deal that never saw the light of day.....this was a potential deal that would have made 1/3 of NASCARs present sponsors look like mom and pop operations but it didnt happen and thousands of dollars and hours of peoples work was destroyed.......belive me it happens every day . Myself I had a chance to be a sponsor on IRL car.......lots of models , t-shirts and give aways were made.....a real dog and pony show and all I ever got out of it was a lot of autographs and a model that still sits in my workshop  ........I liked it better in the old days when you could hand paint a logo on a racecar the night before the race.......in the case of your Andretti car hang on to it at least till you find out for sure after all it doesnt cost anything to stash it away .
