Gators make the headlines again .....!!!

I have heard nothing on the local news for the last few days except all the crap about the Gator frat being in deep doodoo and on probation for their partying!  I guess most people that are not locals don't realize the new UF President is determined to change it into a "serious learning environment and a whole lot less partying"!  If you go to a football game, you better not have a keg, mini keg (NO types of kegs allowed anymore) or consume excessive amounts.  They will arrest your butt. 

This past weekend just fueled his fire.  The Pykes frat house just got in deep crap suspension again for having one of their usually huge parties in which 3 teenage girls got plastered and ended up in the ER!  This frat has been well know as the "Animal House" of UF for over 25 years.  They even got in trouble over a stripper broad that claimed she was raped - charges got dropped after a year in court.  Now the teenage girls told reporters that "someone brought us drinks and we drank them and that's all we remember.....:"  Falls right into the category of "what were you thinking?"  Don't people teach their kids anything????

Don't know why the Gators should be singled out on this one. This type of behavior is the norm for college campii all across the fruited plain

UGA has recently started a huge "crackdown" as well with the idiot President and Mark Richt endorsing it in a BIG way. First week of school they (papers, TV news ect) made a big deal out of the number of folks they busted for drinking violations in Athens. The Athens cops are cutting no slack from the reports I see and read.

What once was a normal part of college and university life is no longer being allowed to exist.  Easier to keep up with all the students if everyone is exactly where they belong at all times, not laying out drunk and partying all the time!  UF President is hell bent on changing the entire image of UF, if he can just keep the sports players out of jail and off the drugs.  Sure is a lot quieter than it used to be around that place on weekends.

Really?  Seems that when I was in Nashville, Vandy bunch sure was partying a lot.  I just figured it was a UF thing, since it was once voted pretty high on the "party school" scale! LOL!!

Of course UF is high on that list.

UF, along with schools like Texas and Ohio State, has an enrollment of near 50,000.  It's a monster of a school; no doubt it's on a party list.  then again, so are most schools.

I've been to Nashville for a Vandy game with a friend who's in a frat there.  the greeks are pretty big over there, and on weekends, it's a party school.  go figure.
