Michelle Obama: Spend $600 stimulus check on earrings
The same day a John McCain surrogate dismissed economic woes from a nation of "whiners," Barack Obama's wife quipped that the $600 tax stimulus check could be used for a pair of earrings.
Both gaffes ignited criticism and are the latest examples of how the men who want to be president have lost control of their campaign surrogates.
"Surrogates gone wild"........
That's the kind of thinking some of the Katrina people engaged in when they came to visit our fine city.
Since The Presumptive Nominee of the Democrat Party for The Office of President of the United States wants to raise my taxes some more.......why not endorse the check to the IRS.....and give the money back?
Or take the $600 to the local grocery store, load up with groceries.......and deliver 'em to a Homeless Shelter? Or Home for Battered Women?
Earrings? You tell me who's elitist and out of touch.
Mizz BarryO may think blowin' your stimulus check at Hermes is 'Da Bomb........ but I think most Americans would be looking at the super market and the gas station......or maybe a ball game with the kids and grandkids.
The Princeton Princess? She thinks supporting America's jewelry industry is the way to go.
Elitism? Who say 'dat?

Phil Gramm was right. We are in a mental recession and are a nation of whiners. The Post states this, but then balances it out with the usual drivel that, ironically, is exactly what Gramm was pointing out.
We are not in a recession. The economy grew last quarter.
Many Americans are not going to lose their homes. I believe that over 97% of all homeowners are meeting their mortgage payments and are not even behind.
Many Americans are not cancelling their vacation plans, based upon the moderately heavy traffic I saw going to and coming from New Jersey.
Hogwash to McCain, and kudos to Phil Gramm. To Ms. Shales I would say that it is not elitist to tell the truth. It is elitist to poo-poo this information with a look down your nose article that concedes the point and then goes on to to denigrate the point.

We've had nearly 8 years of democrat lies, distortion, and doom-and-gloom put out by their media arm the MSM.
8 years of doom and gloom of course will make people feel depressed.
As for the economy, there is a definition for "recession", and although for the past year the MSM has been harping about "a recession", the economy has not met the criteria yet....despite the MSM and democrats' hell-bent desire to drive us there.
Isn't it funny how the "recession" talk started about the same time undeniable, quantifiable success of "General Betrayus's" (remember him) surge strategery in the Iraq battlefield against terrorism began? You know, the plan that the MSM and democrats declared "doomed to fail"? The battle Harry Reid declared "lost"?
Now even Barry O is "revising his plan" for capitulation to terrorism.
