I don't think I can pick a favorite, it depends on what mood I am in.....

Considering it is National Elvis Week, today my favorite song would be "Jailhouse Rock."

The warden threw a party in the county jail,
The prison band was playin' they began to wail,
The band was a jumpin' and the joint began to swing,
You should of heard 'em knock jailbird sing

Let's rock, everybody let's rock,
Everybody in the whole cell block,
Was dancin' to the jailhouse rock.

Spider Murphy playin' on the saxaphone,
Little Joey blowin' on the slide trombone,
The drummer boy from Illinois went crash boom bang,
The whole rhythm section was a purple gang,

Let's rock, everybody let's rock,
Everybody in the whole cell block,
Was dancin' to the jailhouse rock.

Number 47 said to number 3,
You're the cutest little jailbird I ever did see.
I sure would be delighted with your company,
Come on and do the jailhouse rock with me,

Let's rock, everybody let's rock,
Everybody in the whole cell block,
Was dancin' to the jailhouse rock.

Wuddin' that a Party - by the Irish Rovers

Could've been the whiskey
Might've been the gin
Could've been the three or four six-packs,
I don't know, but look at the mess I'm in
My head is like a football
I think I'm going to die
Tell me, me oh, me oh my
Wasn't that a party

Someone took a grapefruit
Wore it like a hat
I saw someone under my kitchen table
Talking to my old tom cat
They were talking about hockey
The cat was talking back
Long about then every-thing went black
Wasn't that a party

I'm sure it's just my memory
Playing tricks on me
But I think I saw my buddy
Cutting down my neighbour's tree

Could've been the whiskey
Might've been the gin
Could've been the three or four six-packs,
I don't know, but look at the mess I'm in
My head is like a football
I think I'm going to die
Tell me, me oh, me oh my
Wasn't that a party

Billy, Joe and Tommy
Well they went a little far
They were sittin' in my back yard, blowing on a sireen
From somebody's police car

So you see, Your Honour
It was all in fun
The little bitty track meet down on main street
Was just to see if the cops could run
Well they run us in to see you
In an alcoholic haze
I sure can use those thirty days
To re-cover from the party

Could've been the whiskey
Might've been the gin
Could've been the three or four six-packs,
I don't know, but look at the mess I'm in
My head is like a football
I think I'm going to die
Tell me, me oh, me oh my
Wasn't that a party

Making a list of only one song is extremely difficult when I can hardly differentiate among my top 100 favorite songs, but I will say...

Dannnng, that's tough, I have no one favorite...I have one for each decade, each genre, etc...

With that said, as far as the 80's are concerned, I have to go with I Melt With You by Modern English.
I will stop here, I don't want to bore you through the soundtrack of my life.

It would be hard to pin it down to just ONE song........

But one I always associate with fun, good times and good friends is Amarillo by Morning, performed by George Strait. I've spent a lot of time in the company of good friends, drank a lot of good whiskey and danced many a mile while this song was either playing or being performed.

Amarillo by morning, up from san antone.
Everything that Ive got is just what Ive got on.
When that sun is high in that texas sky
Ill be bucking it to county fair.
Amarillo by morning, amarillo Ill be there.

They took my saddle in houston, broke my leg in santa fe.
Lost my wife and a girlfriend somewhere along the way.
Well Ill be looking for eight when they pull that gate,
And Im hoping that judge aint blind.
Amarillo by morning, amarillos on my mind.

Amarillo by morning, up from san antone.
Everything that Ive got is just what Ive got on.
I aint got a dime, but what I got is mine.
I aint rich, but lord Im free.
Amarillo by morning, amarillos where Ill be.
Amarillo by morning, amarillos where Ill be.

Oh man.....I can't think of just one.  IMPOSSIBLE.

Besides.....I'm in official goo-goo eyes, sappy grin mode

and anything I choose will only embarrass me later.

I admit it.  *sigh*

"One Particular Harbour" by Jimmy Buffett, this song is AMAZING live!

IA ORA TE NATURA
E MEA AROFA TEIE AO NEI
IA ORA TE NATURA
E MEA AROFA TEIE AO NEI

Nature lives (life to nature)
Have pity for the Earth
(Love the Earth)

I know I don't get there often enough
But God knows I surely try
It's a magic kind of medicine
That no doctor could prescribe

I used to rule my world from a pay phone
And ships out on the sea
But now times are rough
And I got too much stuff
Can't explain the likes of me

Chorus:
But there's this one particular harbour
So far but yet so near
Where I see the days as they fade away
And finally disappear

But now I think about the good times
Down in the Caribbean sunshine
In my younger days I was so bad
Laughin' about all the fun we had

I've seen enough to feel the world spin
Mixin' different oceans meetin' cousins
Listen to the drummers and the night sounds
Listen to the singers make the world go 'round

IA ORA TE NATURA
E MEA AROFA TEIE AO NEI
IA ORA TE NATURA
E MEA AROFA TEIE AO NEI

Lakes below the mountains
Flow into the sea
Like oils applied to canvas
They permeate through me

And there's that one particular harbour
Sheltered from the wind
Where the children play on the shore each day
And all are safe within

Most mysterious calling harbour
So far but yet so near
I can see the day when my hair's full gray
And I finally disappear

IA ORA TE NATURA
E MEA AROFA TEIE AO NEI
IA ORA TE NATURA
E MEA AROFA TEIE AO NEI

UA PAU TE MAITAI NO TE FENUA
RE ZAI NOA RA TE ORA O TE MITIE

Bounty of the land is exhausted
But there's still abundance on the sea

Suicide Solution

There's a million songs from the mid to late 80's that I love, A few from the early 90's.
Around 96 or so I kind of stopped listening to music, or at least buying it.
