Funny Quotes From Montreal

I was reading the NASCAR.com article on Montreal, and a couple of statements jumped out.
1)  "Said figures that both Volkswagen and Honda will join the Sprint Cup Series when the cars go to fuel injection." It doesn't surprise me that Toyota or VW would be interested, but this is the first mention of fuel injection that I've read.

2) Busch seeks out Jacques Villeneuve for a critique of his driving."  Good to see Jacques back behind the wheel, and apparently I'm not the only one who respects his talent.

3) Carl Edwards sense of owing someone and the payback
Edwards and Ambrose were supposed to race a Daytona Prototype, but Edwards crashed it in final practice. Due to the qualifying format, Edwards had what could have been a pole run fouled by Jean-Francois Dumoulin. and Ambrose ended up on the pole. Edward's later said, "He got the pole, and it probably worked out well. ... I owed him one -- but now we're even." I'm sorry? Even Carl? Your mistake costa a team a car and entry to the race so you feel like you owe them - OK. But you don't pay someone back by having a little bad luck. You pay someone back by actually giving of youself.

Happy for Carl getting the win today but not happy about the squeeze he put on Andrew Ranger, think it was Ranger, Carl had nearly all 4 tires in the grass, causing a huge pileup and turnaround in people's ending position a lap later.  Maybe I'm being a little too hard on Carl, but didn't see replay.  There was some damaged tin in that race today.  Talk about rubbing is racing, man oh man.  The sheetmetal boys will be working long hours---but they get paid.

Edwards said Ranger pinched him into the grass.  I didn't see it that way either.  I watch Formula 1 racing because its racing and i love all types of racing-------but surprisingly the announcers in the booth failed to mention the two words--Formula One-- any time during the long race today and the race track itself was  named after a world-famous F1 driver, and this driver's son Jacques Villeneuve who finished 4th in the race today is a former Formula One World Champion.  Maybe they said it, but don't think so. Glaring and embarrassing mistake.

I didn't pay a whole lot of attention to the converage because I was yelling at the screen, hoping Mr. Helton understood that NASCAR can't officiate a road course for crap.

First off I rarely watch an F-1 race, there usually a train race.  The announcers at least twice mentioned that they were racing on the Jill v. race track and it was named after him yadda yadda yadda.  So they did mention it

As for Carl's move, lets just say if someone else had made it there would be a lot more controversy.
