Dodge in contention for Manufactruer's championshi

Dodge is only behind Ford by 2 points in the manufacturer standings. With two races to go, Dodge has a real shot at winning the title. I understand it's not NASCAR, but you have to start at the bottom and work your way up to gain respect. The racing is different here, and is better without all the glitz, promotion and marketing NASCAR has. As a loyal Dodge fan, I for one would love to see Dodge win this title. It means they are serious about racing and are moving up and improving not only in Driver Development but it can translate to NASCAR as well. I'm not a historian,but when was trhe last time Dodge won a championship in ARCA? Exactly the point!

Dodge got into ARCA in 2001, the same year they Got back into NASCAR I think.

I thought so but wasn't sure. The records at the arca site only go back to 2001 on that. In 2001 they only got 12 points so that would suggest that they only had one car lol.

Results after Taledaga:
Ford 143 points
Dodge; 138 points
Chevy: 128 points
Pontiac: 72 points.
Dodge lost three valuable points by their second place finish. Dodge needs to win the race in Iowa with Ford finishing fifth or worse to claim the title!

Not much. Dodge has run a lot of good YOUNG talent through that (those) cars this year. A good portion of their "points" aren't even through their "development drivers". It has come from teams and cars that they probably give very little to.
JPM has yet to equal the best finish that car has had. hell, Shane Miller put it in victory lane the first time he ever sat in it AND the first time he ever raced at Pocono. JPM I guess is good, but it doesn't really matter. When (if) he gets to Cup he will STILL be driving crappy GaNasty stuff. In ARCA, the GaNasty stuff is amongst the best. In Cup? Not even close..........

Results officially come Tuesday 10/17/06.
I think Dodge pulled it off, although i do not know how the points are awarded for the Manufacturer's title? Went to the ARCA website and they do not mention it either.

Looks like a Ford Dodge tie with 147 points. Although since Dodge gives thwe series money they listed Dodge first lol.

I am still trying to find out how the manufacturer's points system is awarded and in what point values each gets, and how the tie is broken.i have sent amn emaiil to ARCA but have not received a response yet.
If it is for most wins or ploes then Dodge should have the title outright. Right????
i think Dodge should be able to claim the victory when all factors are included.

Well it SHOULD be how it goes lol. (actually if it's alphabetic D comes before F). Whom did you email? I'll call and ask somebody if you don't get a reply, but I won't be able to post it for a week or so as I am "planning" on being gone for that period of time. I have learned of how the manufacturr's system works in ARCA.
1st place gets 9 points.
2nd place gets 5 points.
3rd place gets 4 points.
4th place gets 3 points.
If you take last week's results from Talledaga:
Ford 143 points
Dodge; 138 points
Chevy: 128 points
Pontiac: 72 points.
and now add in the point system for this week-you get:
Dodge 147 points
Ford 147 points
Chevy 134 points
Pontiac 75 points.
Whaich means I needed Pontiac ahead of Ford in Iowa to win the Manufacturer's title outright.
Now with that settled, there has to be a tie breaker. How is that determined? Most wins, Most poles?

As the PR/Media director, he has enough to do without the SPEED stuff, but he pulls it all off well. NOT to mention that he writes the post race recaps on that site along with a majority of the other articles. Dude is just a "racing animal" as it were.
