Perris Speedway

I know its a 1/2 mile, and I assume its more like a paper clip. Going out there to see the USAC 2-day show in a couple or so weeks. What kind of races do they have, and what can I expect from the track conditions?

Perris is a classy place with a lot of exciting racing going on. Mainly it is a nonwing track with the SCRA sanctioning body running the show. The six or seven times we've been down there the track was in great condition and not dusty at all.
Make sure you take the Ramona Express way off of the 215 freeway and just look for the fairgounds about three miles off of the hiway to the north side of the Expressway
The facilities are great with plenty of leg room, the concessions are great and lot's of mexican if you like the spicy stuff. Have a great time and enjoy the show. Most of the time Tony makes the big USAC show with his stuff so it should be exciting for you. Enjoy........
Just a great place all around...............

Perris is officially billed as a 1/2 mile track, I have no reason to believe otherwise. The turns are really wide so they allow great sliders and 3 even 4 wide racing at times. The facility is really probably one of if not the best I have ever attended. Great surface, sound, seats, lighting. You will have a really good time.
here is a couple of video clips to check out:

the first clip starts with footage of Nadine Keller driving the car into 1 hard in qualifying. She is starting to show real strides and has come a long ways since her start at Krusemans open wheel driving school.

You won't dissapointed with Perris. Hands down the best sprint car facility on the west coast.
We asked Jason York one time, "Is this place really a 1/2 mile"? His response, "Maybe if you run around the outside of the billboards". You can pretty much fit Perris into the infield of Calistoga.

OK, upon further review (thanks to Google maps Satellite images), you can in fact fit the PAS in the infield of Calistoga. Seems this track size thing is always brought up but, I dont know why there isnt some sort of official standard of measurement. Either Calistoga is bigger than 1/2mile or Perris is smaller than a 1/2mile. You can see it clearly with the way I matched them up. I used cars in parking lots as a size gauge to compare.

I agree... The best facility on the left coast. I was fortunate a few years back to follow the WoO from Hanford to Perris, then off to Disneyland for a few days. Would have followed them to Vegas, but I do not like Vegas at all. I keep harping on the Santa Clara Board of Directors to build a track like Perris where San Jose speedway was. Still an open lot. Better than having a street race / parade.

I swore the announcer called it a 4/10 mile and the web site says it's a 1/2 mile. I stand corrected. Thank you
Great facility!
