Arrived on Friday afternoon and got "plugged in" and then went around visiting
with some of the teams. Had a very good visit with Jim Hannagan. Most of you know me
well enough to know I am a conservative (and prude) but I did not find anything offensive
about anything to do with PENTHOUSE. Yes, their new shirts has a pic (not a real lady) in
a bikini in the #1 on the front of the shirt but nothing like what many might have expected.
Did talk briefly with Randy.
Saturday night...The Dude made a BONZI move going into turn one which made me close my
eyes. I thought, "Oh, no. Either he pulls this off or he and Paulie will both end up over the fence!"
He went on from there. He and Paul were the class on Saturday night as Dollansky (3rd) was never
a factor.
Sunday night...It was obvious (to me) the person who got the jump and led into turn one would be the
winner and that was Dollansky. The Dude never coult get too close to him.
PITS: $45.00 on Saturday and $50.00 on Sunday!
Those of you who have been around here a long time know I would never post anything to
INTENTIONALLY hurt another poster. However, I must comment on a couple of things which have
been posted in the past about some drivers. I remember reading about a couple of guys that just need
the "chance" and the "sponsorship" and they could really make it. I believe two of them were Bill Rose
and Brian Clausen. Well, I'm sorry but in my opinion neither of these guys could make the A Main on
a regular Friday night race at Chico. It is one thing to have the desire and another to have the ability.
At the present time, neither of them possess the ability to be out on the road. The best thing they could do
would be to stay near a local track and get a LOT of experience.
DIRT, WoO, BOUNCELESS...or whatever you wish to call them. They ran a good program. Ofcourse, they
were dealing with a 10:00 P.M. curfew (yes, 10:00 P.M. folks) but both nights were over by around 9:25 P.M.
I did speak (briefly) with a couple of their people and they were very courteous.
Got to see a lot of folks and enjoyed that. I made coffee on Saturday and Sunday mornings and went down
"hauler row" and the guys went through it quickly. In fact, they ran me out of coffee. Will be better prepared
the next time.
Hope you all had a safe weekend.
Now, work to do as Hanford is tonight and want to get out of the office by around 3:00 P.M. today.
Have a Blessed day.
(ooooops...got to call the Mrs. She is in Albuquerque and today is our 19th anniversary. Gee, it just seems
like it was...............60 years ago!!!! Ha Ha
