So any predictions for the 2008 season?
Tri-State Motorsports split with Kimmel, has anyone heard where he is going?

Scott Speed should do well, will no doubt be an endless pit of money from mostly the rice burner guys from Tokyo, but also RedBull has never shied away from spending a lot of money (and in the case of F1, not getting anything in return).  So he'll be up front unless learning curve is too steep.

I'm hoping sprint/midget star and "kid" Ricky Stenhouse Jr. does well.  Again, will have Roush-Fenway $$$ behind him. I don't know if the youngster has even been in a heavy stock car.

Kimmel---impossible to count out. Can get to the front even when he's not one of the fastest 5 or 6 cars.  Hopefully the money/sponsors will be there for the backing needed.

Another 14 or 15 year old sprint/midget guy is going to be racing in the sereies for a nascar team.  can't remember his name.  I follow USAC a fair amount and his name didn't even ring a bell with me as someone who was up front a lot.

There wont be any 14 or 15 yr olds in ARCA since they dont allow anyone under 16 to race in the series and then only on short tracks . You must be 18+ to race on any track 1 mile or bigger in ARCA as of this past season .

2008 will be one of the best seasons in ARCA since its hay days of the 60s and early 70s IMO since there is now top notch equiptment available to everyone with the release of the 800 Cup cars that are availble at bargain prices . I plan on skipping a couple of NASCAR races and attending a couple of ARCA races this year because i think you will see better racing and get a bigger bang for your buck .

As for Scott Speed i dont expect him to do that well except maybe at the plate races , i think places like the dirt tracks and Toledo will be like going to Mars for him .

You also get to see a lot more of the rookies. You see the racing that we used to see in Bush. I know I watched more ARCA races than I did Nextel. I'm hoping Erin Crocker has a ride for 2008. She usually does well and I think would do a lot better if she would get a full time ride. We saw Erin quite a few times when she was racing sprints and when she made the A Main. at Knoxville. She was always very nice to talk with and my wife, along with alot of other women, took a renewed interest in racing. I know her affair with Everham really hurt her career but I think she could make a life in ARCA.

With out going back over plowed ground Crockers career is over . Part of the deal with Gillette was after the deal was done with her running the few ARCA races her and Ray had plannedin 07 she would no longer be involved with Gillette Evernham Motorsports in any way . There was a Busch team (ive forgotten who) that Ray was trying to send engines to in return for her running a limited schedule but that deal fell through as far as i know . Crocker has been marked with the scarlet letter and i think thats going to follow her for ever .

The only way Crocker will have a ride in 2008 is if Ray reaches into his own pocket to pay for it. I guess we will see exactly how whipped he is.
