This will not be my first date this year...
7/21/2006 9:16 PM

But will be the first with someone I know.  When I was in England I went to dinner

with this lovely man from London for three nights and on my final night I went

out with 4 men on holiday from a South African Rubgy team.    All five of them treated

me with great respect but as far as extra ciricular activities go.  What happened in

Manchester stays in Manchester...Big Smile [:D]Big Smile [:D]Rolls Eyes [:rolleyes]

I am very nervous because I see this as perhaps my final chance at a meaningful relationship

with a man.  I just don't mean the physical part but having a man as a companion and

confident.  Someone to talk to and to share a laugh with.and to go on long walks with and

to cuddle on the couch with while watching TV or listening to music.   I know some of

my post lately don't show it but I am an Old Fashioned girl...with Old Fashioned values..

I just want people to accept me for who I am...A good person with a good heart who

would like to find some real happiness.    Please wish me luck...I just love older men!!!

and I do not care if the man I am seeing is almost 16 years older than I am...The man I

sorta dated in London was 25 yeaars older than I was.  I will say this he didn't need

Viagra!!!!!  How long before this gets pulled...Sad [:(]Angry [:angry]Sarcasm [:sarcasm]

What do you mean "final chance at a meaningful relationship"?

I don't know how old you are, but even if you are 80, that's crazy talk.2 Cents [:twocents]

I am a tough nut to crack I can get very shy and standoffish.and sometimes have

troubles just striking up a conversation with someone anyone.  Posting is great

because I don't have to look anyone in the eye.  This is probably the place I

feel the most comfortable in my own skin.  Plus my psoriasis and my varicose

veins are turnoffs to the opposite sex..   Why do looks have to matter so much

anyway.  As my father (God Rest His Soul) would say don't judge a book by

its cover.but by what is inside the book...

Look, I'm the same way.

But giving up if this doesn't work out is not the answer.

For one, by thinking that way you are putting extra pressure on yourself to make this date work.  Not fair to yourself nor whoever it is you are going out with.

Just relax and have fun.

MM, just be yourself.  I know it's sometimes easier to express oneself in writing,  but you'll do fine.  Once people mature they realize that what makes a person unique is far more valuable than the superficial.  This isn't high school or college any longer.  People DO grow up.

Remember, making friends is always a good thing.  IF....I repeat IF....it grows to something more, then great.  If not, friends are good to have for companionship.

Just take it a step at a time, quit worrying about all the things that could be and enjoy the moment.

You can't live in the past, it is gone.  The future is yet to be.  All you have is NOW.

Enjoy what you have.

Good luck, but, whatever you do, don't start talking about bananas.  It might make him feel inferior.  If you do slip up and mention bananas and you detect he's feeling inferior, tell him you'd rather be tickled to death than choked to death any ole day.  That is if you kinda like him...if you don't...tell him to shove off.

Hope this helps and again, good luck.Banana [:banana]
