Great article. The blame has to go to the network and announcers. They do the same thing during the cup race also. If one of the smaller teams is leading, they go back in the field to see if the top names can get through the field. It just like last year when Jr. had such a bad run at Las Vegas and the team turned it into a test session. Even though he was alot of laps down, they still spent time talking about during the race.

Although not a Jr. fan, I have to stick up for the announcers on this one. It's not often that a "top" team comes to a track and sucks SO BAD that they have to turn the race into a test session. When that teams driver is an Earnhardt; well, that's big news! And for the majority of issues with the announcers, don't blame them...the Producer is in their ear, telling them what to talk about.
The announcers are monkeys...the Producer is the organ grinder.

also jr was the points leader going into that race, so it was a big deal, they did the same thing with the 48 this year when he was sucking so bad at dover, that ended ok though when knaus waved the magic wand and got him a 6th place finish.

Nascar is moving and shaking...LOL Scumbags... The Busch series has never seen such rating... The take at the box office is huge these days... Now a day tracks are making the season ticket holders buy both tickets for the weekend... Years ago I would watch the Busch races to see the hotshoes coming up. Now we don't have a clue who they are ...Cause the nascar puppets only talk about the "Top Ten" cup guys... That is a joke... It all comes down to one thing and that is money...
You watch Nascrap is going to price themselves right out... These company's aren't going to spend the money they once did... If you haven't noticed they (the sponsors) are greedy basturds too... LOL They want the most bang for the buck... I said this a few years ago "what if" Tony or Jeff or Dale or a big name driver with big bucks sponsorship didn't make the chase... What would happen???... ROTF we are going to see what happens next year when the change it... cause the sponsors aren't going to take it anymore...and this is at the highest level $$$...
What was up with Burney Lamar??? Haveawreck takes a "ROOKIE" out of the car and puts Burton in... If you take the cup guys out of the standings he would have been in the "Top Ten"... How the hell are these guys going to learn??? When this kid gets into cup or forced in how screwed up will he be??? Lets just say he will ride around in 20th for a few racing and because he didn't win right out of the box lets throw him away...
One other thing I used to say... The best kept secret were the Truck and Nascrap is starting to change that on us...

Lets see if I have this right .....The marketing manager of a fast food resturant that sponsored a car with an 3rd rate driver that led a few laps does not think he got enough TV time for his decling company .
Western Sizzlin a joint where people that live in trailer parks go to celabrate getting their GED and that had to settle almost 40 cases of salmonella posining recently has much bigger problems then lack of exposure on TV .
With 15 of their resturants closing last year and over half of their board of directors quiting in 2005/2006 I think their foray into Nascar is at best ill timed . Western Sizzlin would have been much better off to spend their money on cleaning up their resturants and teaching their employees proper food handling skills and about the importance of washing their hands then sponsoring a Busch car.
