I'm really undecided at this point. I WANT to go, but my "racecar" has a trannie problem and my truck only gets about 10 MPG. It's quite a haul from Atlanta to Iowa at 10 MPG lol. But jsut damn, that Iowa track looks to be quite the track so maybe I'll "steal' my wife's car and head on out anyways. I really SHOULD go as it's the last race but Kimmel has the championship locked up............ Right now I'm saying No, but I really don't see how I can (or will) miss the race.

WHere are you coming from and what do you need to work out with your BIL? (sorry about all the typos from my fat fingers, but I'm just too tired to go back and correct them all.)

I've got alot shorter haul than you from Omaha it's about three hours to Newton. The brother-in-law lives about half hour or less from there and he was talking about going two weeks ago. Since I posted this thread about a hundred things have come up that have to get done that weekend so who knows. I wanted to tell ya though if you can make it for some belt loosening food go about an hour or so east of Newton to the Amana Colonies this is good ol' homestyle I need a nap cookin. For bbq have to go with Hickory Park in Ames about 45 minutes north of Des Moines. I'll try to get back to ya this weekend to see how it looks good luck with the tranny.

Thanks for the food advice. LOL this fat boy loves his food. There's no "luck" with the trannie. The thing is FUBAR and only time or money will get it fixed. I don't have the time to do it right now and am unwilling to spend the cash with only one race left to cover. I bought it to drive to the ARCA races so i could cover them and with Dega a hop, skip, and jump away and Iowa being the last one, I'll wait to see what I can do. I'd rather just rebuild the damn thing myself rather than spend close to 4 grand to have someone else do it.

Keep me posted on your intentions, if you go (and I go) maybe we'll hook up. Like I said, I REALLY want to go.
