Rash of cage failures

Have other parts of the country had late model cage failures? We've had several around here in the past couple of years, even lost a guy in Greenville, MS a year or two ago.
The biggest problems seem to be in used cars that crop up more often in econo classes such as crate and late model stock.

People are out there welding on frames that really aren't very good welders.

These are "store built" cars.
And we had another failure last weekend. Mastersbilt. Broke neck. Front of the cage collapsed three inches.

OMG, that is horrible. How can those manufactures get away with the substandard stuff. Not acceptable IMO. Terrible about the drivers

He'll be fine but it's gonna take a while. It's the front of the halo that's collapsing, not the back, in most cases.
