let's go here and read about how we "fought" terrorism throughout the 90's.

First let me start by saying I didn't read the whole article, just about the first third of it. Next let me ask, Who the hell cares? That is all old news, especially for anyone who has been paying any attention to politics throughout at least the last two administrations. What does it have to do with today other than some sort of useless "blame game" that the left so delights in playing? Can you go back 10-15 years and change anything? What is the point in bashing Clinton now? It's like the left bashing Bush for going into Iraq. Yes, I think it was the wrong decision, BUT WE CAN'T CHANGE IT. So instead of looking back and pointing fingers we must look forward and see how we can extricate ourselves with the loss of the least amount of lives, (American AND Iraqi) and yet leave some sort of semblance of stability there.

Basically we have two choices: Cut and run and let the area turn into complete anarchy, or stay and die while the area only turns into partial anarchy. I've said it a million times here, you can't GIVE anyone freedom, they have to want it so badly that they fight for it themselves. The Iraqi's don't want it that badly. But I digress, what has that article on Clinton have to do with any solution to our problems today? If we are pointing fingers let's not stop at Clinton, our involvement in that area goes much further back than his administration, encompassing Dems and Pubs alike, so why don't we just turn all focus on the past til we can pinpoint EXACTLY where we first went "wrong" and who is exactly to blame. If we spend enough time and effort on the "problem" I'm sure that in 50 or 60 years we can discover the defining instant in time and guilty party. At that point we can concentrate our efforts on building a time machine to go back in time and really hammer that stupid ***. THAT will make everything better right now.

I think since September 11, 2001, most Americans have waken up and would not react the same as they did when that event took place. Face it jlb, it takes a real kick in the balls to wake a vast majority of the American public up and tear them away from Survivor and American Idol. September 11th did that, but that was 5 years ago. Survivor and AI were last wee, or last night, or tonight.  We must  concentrate on the "important" issues.  The fact that more Americans can tell you who the host of Survivor or AI is than can tell you  the Sec State  or Speaker of the House  let's you know where our priorities lie.......

Of course it is.   Had he not been attempting to suck up to you clowns, he would have mentioned that the article was in the same magazine which claimed we were winning in Iraq, then claimed that calls for more troops were nonsense, and finally, after all that failed to convince anyone, now is calling for more troops to be sent to Baghdad as if the war can be won be protecting the Green Zone and letting the rest of the country go to hell in a handbasket.  IOW, the magazine hasn't got a clue and is merely a propaganda organ for Cheney & Co..

He would have used his usual buzz words (the ones he has on macro) such as anal, banal, and other descriptives that we all know Bubba uses to show how loving and thoughtful he is.

That he was gentle with you guys shows just how far he's digressed in his journey to the dark side.

Why is it that you guys never post articles which describe how Bush's Secretary of Homeland Security, the living breathing corpse, has said that the war on terror will never be won.  Why not note how he's claiming that we don't have enough money to protect our borders and ports but, somehow we have enough money for a war in Iraq, and enough money to protect a Pumpkin Festival in Bumfuk, Iowa?

Hell, jlb, why don't you just start posting stuff from the American Enterprise Institute and get it over with?  Your misguided neocon buddies will lap it up.
